A simple, 20-second smartwatch-based test that can be completed by any patient.
Yields better outcomes by filtering out patients who need alternatives to surgery.
Results derived from over a decade of patient data.
Reduces post-operation complications, liberating resources.
Empowers providers to confidently recommend procedures with improved post-op recovery.
Enables patients to complete the test at home.
Eliminates walking, injections, or consumables with the simple 20-second, single-arm test.
Traditional frailty assessments are not appropriate for clinical settings where physicians need to make quick, data-driven decisions. As a result, many physicians rely on subjective patient assessments.
Half of cardiovascular disease patients have mobility disorders that may make traditional assessments impossible to complete
Fried Frailty Phenotype and Rockwood Deficit Index methods are complex to implement in a busy clinical setting
6-minute walk tests strain staff time and are burdensome on patients
The Clinical Frailty Test relies on patient-completed questionnaires
The Nuclear Stress Test requires injection and gamma camera testing
Frailty is a clinical syndrome characterized by reduced strength and diminished resilience to stressors, a result of progressive declines in various physiological systems of the body. This weakening makes individuals more vulnerable to severe health issues, such as frequent falls, more hospital visits, ongoing disabilities, and a heightened risk of death. For instance, a frail older adult might face significant challenges after surgery, experiencing complications that could lead to readmission, unlike their non-frail counterparts.
We are excited to introduce our innovative frailty meter, designed to effectively quantify frailty syndrome and monitor its progression among community-dwelling older adults. Our cutting-edge Upper-Extremity Function (UEF) test utilizes data from embedded sensors of a smartwatch to assess motor and cardiovascular functions during a 20-second rapid elbow bending task.
Our frailty meter solution is implemented on a smartphone application that receives data from the smartwatch, performs the required processing, and generates the frailty index. Additionally, the app will connect to cloud-based storage to save the raw data and the outcomes.
